Dr. V H Hanumanthaiah
Dr V H Hanumanthaiah, born July 4th, 1935 at Vajrahalli, Sira Taluk in an agriculturist’s family to Mr. Chikkahanumappa and Mrs.Kenchamma. He graduated from Mysore Medical College in 1955. He completed his post-graduation at King George Medical University, Lucknow in 1959. He joined government service in 1964. He served as Asst. Professor, Professor and HOD in Government Medical Colleges of Mysore, Bellary, Hubli and Bangalore.
Dr V H Hanumanthaiah took voluntary retirement as Director of Sanjay Gandhi Accident Rehabilitation Centre, Bangalore in 1986. He founded Jayanagar Orthopaedic Centre in 1987. It was the first exclusive orthopaedic hospital in Karnataka.
He was the 3rd president of Karnataka Orthopaedic Association during 1979-1980. He has also founded Bangalore Orthopaedic society in 1986 along with Late Dr Krishnappa.
